We are an innovative software development company

based in the heart of Leicester

Viva IT specialises in the development & deployment of a range of bespoke web applications.

These solutions have proven vital in improving the efficiency and running of small and large businesses.

Our background in software engineering, combined with our long-standing experience in web-based development, allows us to use tried and tested software engineering processes within the fast-paced and dynamic realm of web development. This unique mix helps us to create mission-critical applications that remain agile, cost effective and responsive to our clients’ needs.

Ethics

As technology specialists, we’re committed to developing original applications for our customers but equally, we’re also proud to be working in partnership on a range of projects alongside external organisations and fellow tenants from the community here at the Dock offices.

Culture

Our ethical vision is based broadly around the theme of sustainability. We try and enforce as many sustainable methods into our business processes, as we can, whether that be in the modes we use for commuting, or by embracing other ways of preserving environmental resources.

Kiel

Kiel has been working in IT for over 15 years. Over that time he has kept his skill set updated with a strong focus on implementing heterogeneous solutions to improve the performance our clients' core businesses.

He has worked on the 'front lines' of IT in partnership with many small to medium sized businesses under the role of providing consultancy and IT support, and is now focusing on software solutions to improve the way our clients work.

Lewis

Lewis has sneakily turned an unhealthy compulsion for efficiency into a successful business, and has vowed to continue to push the boundary in other obsessions he can pass off as "work".

Programming for most of his life, and with a penchant for learning new technologies, Lewis considers himself Viva IT's resident Code Quality enforcer.

When he's not arguing in front of a whiteboard, Lewis is an avid public speaker, rock climber and cycle touring enthusiast.

Matt

Matt leads the Viva IT software engineering team. A BDD and TDD fan, his aims and goals are to mentor and help the developers to grow, and to continue making great software.

A lover of learning new things and sharing knowledge, he's involved with usergroups and community events, giving talks and workshops to share his knowledge and experiences with others.

In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, board games, flying quadcopters and reading comic books.

Leighton

Leighton joined the Viva IT team as an apprentice software engineer, and has since progressed to become a junior software engineer. His role at the company involves assisting the development team in creating quality, well-tested software.

He has had an interest in computers from a very young age, and that interest has only grown since joining the Viva IT team.

In his spare time, Leighton is a gaming enthusiast, and also enjoys spending time with his friends - if he’s not asleep all day.

Kane

Kane is an apprentice software engineer at Viva IT. His role at the company is to learn and assisting the development team in creating quality, well-tested software.

He has been interested in computers since he saved up to buy his first laptop at the age seven. He later developed an interest in software development after finding out how fun it was to code.

In his spare time Kane enjoys riding his numerous bikes and learning new ways to develop projects.

Jack

Jack is has recently joined Viva IT, having finished a course on Software Engineering at university.

Having built his first website for his family in 2004 using Notepad and learning C-like syntax to make Doom levels, his passion for all things software has grown with time as consumer technologies have boomed.

He is also a qualified contemporary musician, playing in local rock bands and singing in choirs around Leicester.
